Moments as a mother

I had one of those scary moments last night, but turned out to be nothing at all. Brice has been in trial for the past week and will be for another couple weeks so he is only home to sleep. He gets home no earlier than midnight and sometimes as late as 3am. So last night we were fast asleep and then at 3:30 I heard huge boom type noises, it sounded like furniture falling or something. Brice didn't even hear it because he was so out but I screamed Brice and he took off running down the hall. It turned out Tyler had just fallen off the bed! oops. He has been sleeping with Kaylee so her bed is kind of on the higher side. I guess he fell on the nightstand first and then onto the floor. The noise sounded a lot worse than it was, he was fine! My heart was racing so hard as I laid back to try to fall alseep with Tyler next to me.
It reminded of a very scary moment we had while in Michigan. It was Sunday afternoon and we only had Kaylee at that time. We were wactching t.v. downstairs and Kaylee was playing upstairs. All of a sudden we heard huge noises followed by huge screams. We ran as fast as we could upstairs, I think Brice's feet only touched a couple stairs! We found Kaylee on the floor with our dresser (that had 5 drawers) laying on her! We had an old 27 inch tube t.v. on the dresser and the t.v. was laying next to her. The way it looked when we walked into the room, it looked like the t.v. was on her head. When we ran closer, it turned out the t.v. was an inch from her head, but she was still pinned down by the whole dresser (full of clothes) laying on her. She was still belting out these huge screams. I almost fainted I was scared so bad! Brice got the dresser off of her and it turned out she was ok. We thought she at least had some broken bones, but she was completely fine...just a couple of bruises.
It is these moments where I realize how much i love my kids! I have been complaining about Tyler for this last week because it has been so incredibly hard without Brice. Tyler has been getting on my last nerve. He just doesn't ever stop and I don't get a break!! I don't know how to stay mad at him though. He is the funniest little kid and I just laugh at him! I am not laughing too hard though when he throws huge tantrums in the store and we only last 5 minutes in a store.
On a different note, I think Tyler is obsessed with boobs..it is pretty funny sometimes. I was walking into Cafe Rio last night and he was grabbing my boobs! I said " hey stop, those are my boobies" (that is what he calls them) He turned to me with a very confused look on his face and said "what? I am just touchin em". I started laughing so hard. And by the way, I got home from Cafe Rio only to find they did not put the salad dressing in my bag so I had to go all the way back! What a hassle!!
Then after i ate my salad (with salad dressing!) Tyler punched both of my boobs. Kaylee said, "hey, stop it, those are her money makes". I started laughing so hard again! I know she was trying to be funny and it worked!
I need to post some pictures, in the last couple months we went and visited my dad and step mom in Indiana....we had so much fun!!! Then we had a family reunion in California, then we went back to California a few weeks later and went to San Diego. Fun times!
As I am typing this, Tyler is already crying is head off about something and I am wondering how I am going to make it through this day...wish me luck :)

Why does Brice want to be a trial lawyer??

I really have nothing significant to post but I am sitting here watching So You Think You Can Dance and it gets old after awhile. I love this show but only after they get through all of the auditions...don't hate me Kellie:)
I look up to all any of you single moms out there! Brice started trial today but as been prepping for the last week. He is gone about 18 hours a day. He gets home just to sleep for a few hours and then gets up first thing in the morning and does it again! The trial is 3 weeks long so we will have a whole month of no daddy! I'm excited though because the kids and I are going to Indiana to see my dad and step mom pretty soon. I will get some help with the kids! My kids are really good, but it is just constant--with no break!
I didn't realize how much I could get done while Brice is gone though! The kids rooms are cleaned out, laundry is all done, I've been decorating rooms, etc. It's kind of nice!
Brice's brother came home from his mission today!! I wish we could have gone up there to see him. Brice at least got to talk to him today. We will miss his homecoming at church too. :( Hopefully we will get up there soon or he we get to come down so we can see him. It's been a long 2 years!

Silver Ball

This past weekend Brice and I went to the Nevada Law Foundation Silver Ball. It is basically a fundraiser, but it is a black tie event so it is fun to get dressed up. It is always a little stressful to find a dress though..... Boys have it so easy! We were lame and only got one picture while we were there, but it was fun!

Family Fun for Spring Break

Brice's sister and her family came to visit for a few days. Kaylee had so much fun with her cousin Gavin. We barely saw them the whole time. I learned that Tyler is a lot like his cousin Garrett. They are both so cute, but crazy! They kept us on our toes. Leanne and I were able to go shopping a lot. It was so nice to let the cousins all play together at home and we were able to go out. They will be back on Saturday night on their way back from Arizona and will be able to be with us on Easter morning. Here are a few pictures from while they were here.

new car

I am realizing I am really bad about keeping up with our blog. The most exciting news we have this week is we got a new car. Yes I know...we did just get a new car not even a year ago. I told Brice that I would keep our last car for a couple years and then trade it in. BUT, I received an email from the Ford dealer saying they need used cars so we took our Focus in just to see what they would give us for it since they said they needed used cars. We told the dealer that that was a good marketing gimmick because it worked. The car both Brice and I wanted was the Ford Flex and it just happened to have a good rebate that ran up in the next couple of days. So we decided to go ahead and go for it and get the new car. My dad is retired from Ford so we get below invoice plus the good rebate we were able to get wipe out our negative equity. We have always been negative because we never keep cars along long enough, but this time I will keep it for a long time because I LOVE my car. It is perfect for us. I do not want a mini-van and I do not want a big SUV. I do not want a gas hog, but yet I want a more roomier car. The Ford Flex was perfect because it is big inside (seats 7) but it is a crossover. Even with the 3rd row up, there is still plenty of room in the trunk. The kids are loving it. Usually the kids always want to ride in Brice's car because he had he cool around here, but they actually want to ride in my car for the first time...haha. Here is a picture of what ours looks like.

The most powerful thing in the World

Last night on the way home from dinner, Kaylee asked me--What is the most powerful thing in the world? I responsded and said LOVE. I thought she was referring to the movie Enchanted or something. Kaylee quickly responded and said NO-the Priesthood. oops! I was wrong.
